$4,000 Raised for IMBA Canada at Canmore 24 Hours of Adrenalin, 2014

July 30, 2014 -- $4,000 dollars was raised for IMBA Canada at the 17th annual 24 Hours of Adrenalin in Canmore July 19 and 20, thanks to the support of corporate member Twenty4 Sports Inc. and hundreds of mountain bikers from across Alberta and neighbouring provinces.

In addition to a $1,000 donation to IMBA Canada via 1% for the Planet, Twenty4 Sports extended their resources to provide two additional fundraising opportunities. Partnering with Calgary-based specialty store, Racks Unlimited, a 4-bike Thule rack system (valued at over $1700) was raffled off, and retro 24 Hours of Adrenalin pint glasses and water bottles were sold, with proceeds going to IMBA Canada's restructuring efforts.

IMBA Canada director, Lora Woolner, manned a tent at the two-day event, along with volunteers Doug Topp and Mark Schmidt. “The benefits of being at this year’s event extend far beyond the dollars raised,” said Woolner. “The chance to talk to Alberta mountain bikers and IMBA Canada members face-to-face, especially in this time of restructuring is incredibly valuable. I’m thankful that Stuart insisted we be here.”

IMBA Canada is grateful to 24 Hours of Adrenalin president, Stuart Dorland, and his entire event crew for creating and promoting the fundraiser, Joel Hamm of Racks Unlimited for offering such a generous prize package for the raffle, Doug Topp and Mark Schmidt for volunteering their sales skills and peddling pint glasses late into the night, and to all of the participants and spectators that spent a few dollars to support Canadian trails.
