Ontario RLAC meeting scheduled for March

The Ontario Regional Leadership Advisory Council (RLAC) will hold it's inaugural face-to-face meeting, March 4th, at the Toronto International Bike Show.

The meeting will be in the format of an 'unconference.' Attendees should bring with them a list of challenges, successes, or other topics they'd like to address.

Is your club at the table? Only RLAC members can attend the meeting, but there is still time to join the Ontario Council. Get more info about the program here, or contact jason [dot] murray [at] imba [dot] com (Jason Murray) the IMBA Canada Coordinator for Ontario.

Quebec Sommet des Sentiers

ADSVMQ, Quebec's trail advocacy organization, is organizing the first ever provincial Trail Summit, April 9, 2011. Taking place in in St-Hyacinthe, QC, the goal of the summit is to bring together clubs and riders from across the province to discuss various issues about mountain biking: trail access, management issues and development issues. Advance registration required.

2011 Trail Care Crew schedule coming soon!

Over the next few weeks, keep an eye on the IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew schedule to see which clubs have been awarded visits. The schedule for the first half of the season will be announced in early March.

We're gearing up for spring with these great events!

IMBA Canada staff will be kicking off the season in Ontario next month for a staff retreat and training at Joyride150 indoor bike park. Join us at one of these great events!

Feb. 26: Ride the Divide @ MEC Toronto

Mountain Equipment Co-op is presenting a special screening of Ride the Divide on Saturday February 26th, at 6:30pm in its Toronto location. IMBA Canada will be there to take part, and check out the film!

Mar. 3: Peterborough & Kawarthas Cycling Summit
IMBA Canada staff will be attending the City of Peterborough's Cycling Summit on Thursday, March 3rd. The evening is slated to be a "highly informative discussion with provincial and municipal experts on the business and community enhancement opportunities of a bike-friendly community." More info.

Mar. 4 - 6: Toronto International Bike Show

IMBA Canada will be taking part in the 25th annual Toronto International Bike Show, March 4-6. Located at the Better Living Centre, Exhibition Place, the consumer show features a Pro Mountain Bike Competition, BMX Jam, Test Ride Zone, plus all the bikes and gear.

Check out the IMBA Canada booth (#842) to join or renew your membership, buy new product,  and meet our awesome staff! Plus, learn what's new with IMBA Canada at 6 pm on Friday, in the seminar room next to the show office.

Mar. 13 - 20: Professional TrailBuilders Association 2011 Sustainable Trails Conference

Located in Asheville, North Carolina, the 2011 Sustainable Trails Conference will take place from March 13 - 20. IMBA Canada's Trail Care Crew and Trail Solutions staff will be attending, and will get the opportunity to train with the best trail builders from around the world.

Apr. 18 - 19: Trailhead Ontario

Last June, the IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew program was announced at the Ontario Trail Council's annual symposium. This year, the Crew has been invited back as keynote speakers! The 2011 installment of Trailhead Ontario will take place April 18 - 19, at the Niagara Crowne Plaza Fallsview Hotel.
