The IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew (TCC) was excited to visit Fundy National Park park this year, as the Park's goal has long been to create a mountain bike destination with East Coast flair and fun!

Hartland.  An accomplishment for mountain bicycling advocacy and club / land manager relations within the lower mainland of British Columbia, this extensive trail system provides the riders of Victoria and its surrounding communites with trails that run the gamut from easy doubletrack to some stuff that would test even the North Shore's mettle for its gnar factor.

Since 2005, the Durham Mountain Biking Association (DMBA) has, without a doubt, been one of the primary advocates for the mountain biking community in southern Ontario.  The DMBA have focused their mountain biking advocacy efforts in and amongst the Durham Region, not only to retain access to trails, but also to develop new sustainable riding opportunities.  Their success can be attributed to strong leadership, a dedicated volunteer group of 450 members and a positive relationship with their land manager.

New trails

Last week, i attended the grand opening of Mont-Rigaud. Located less then one hour outside of Montreal, the ski hill is now offering 10km of mountain bike specific trails. The resort invested 100k$ this year to get there and the building of trails started as soon as the resort closed off it's trails for skiing! Sentier Boréal was hired for every step of the way: they delivered Mont Rigaud with 10km of singletrack and a pumptrack and skills area.

Years ago, most surveyors that visited Crowsnest Pass, Alberta did so in order to discover coal. This past month, however, Daniel Scott was in search of something else entirely… mint mountain bike trail terrain.
