On June 16th, 2012, IMBA Canada will participate in the National Urban Learn-to Camp Event presented by Parks Canada and Mountain Equipment Co-op in Toronto's Rouge Park. Glen Rouge Campground will host 150 new campers where they will be taught the basics of how to plan and enjoy a successful camping trip. Mountain biking is also on the lesson plan!

Parks Canada kicked off their 100th anniversary celebrations in a big way with the Blue Jays on Saturday. Starting with a street festival, and ending with a camp-out in Canada's biggest tent, the Rogers Centre, Parks Canada managed to bring a little bit of Canada's great outdoors to Toronto.

IMBA Canada, the Guelph Off Road Bicycling Association (GORBA), and JOYRIDE150 will be taking part in the Blue Jays & Parks Canada Campout at the Rogers Centre, May 21st.

Participants will get the chance to learn to ride a bike, or learn new skills on the diamond of Canada's largest indoor park!

The event kicks off the celebrations for Parks Canada's Centennial birthday, which takes place on May 19th, 2011.

The Ontario mountain bike scene is vibrant and active. We've got some excellent racing, whether you like straigh XC Ocup style racing, 24 hour events, marathon length distances, or downhill. The XC trailriding contingent is huge and getting larger by the year.

The IMBA Canada family has grown exponentially in the past year, and while we connect on a regular basis via phone conferencing it was time to have the first official IMBA Canada staff retreat. Hosted at the Joyride 150 indoor bike park, we spent a few days together in secret meetings discussing the upcoming 2011 season, brainstorming ideas and practicing our backflips in the foam pit. Okay, so maybe there weren't back flips happening but we did get some fun riding in.
