Wasagaming, MB and Riding Mountain National Park was our Trail Care Crew visit this past weekend. As much as we were in a national park setting, we were not working with the park staff but the local club, the Dead Ox Trail Blazers, who have trail access to parklands.

How do you get a mountain bike club off the ground and get access to local trails? I am sure there are many riders out there that wonder about this on a regular basis and this past weekend’s Trail Care Crew visit with LACA is a perfect example of how it is done.

Creating a true mountain bike destination takes more than just great trails. It takes dedicated club and group of riders, hard work, time and buy-in from the local community. This could not be truer than in Hinton, Alberta.

IMBA Canada’s Trail Care Crew (TCC) was delighted to get an invitation to visit the Town of Trenton in Pictou County, Nova Scotia.  During the planning stages for the visit, it was evident that the area has many recreational activities that the residents actively engage in, including mountain biking.  With an 8 km network of singletrack trails easily accessible in the urban setting of Trenton Steeltown Park, there was significant interest from the County and the Town of Trenton to get public involveme
