Jasper National Park is arguably one of the most beautiful backdrops you could enjoy in our country. There is no better place to be if you enjoy the outdoors and it was the latest stop for us in our 2015 Trail Care Crew season.

Redcliff, AB is a small community just outside of Medicine Hat. From Highway 1 it might be easy to drive by without even batting an eye, and for us it was our latest stop in our 2015 Trail Care Crew Season to work with the 670 Collective.

Whitecourt, AB was my most recent stop on the 2015 Trail Care Crew schedule and what a stop it was! The WMBA is a very organized club of over 250 members, and what makes them truly unique is that they are able to garner such high membership numbers with no natural surface trail offerings in the area!

How do you get a mountain bike club off the ground and get access to local trails? I am sure there are many riders out there that wonder about this on a regular basis and this past weekend’s Trail Care Crew visit with LACA is a perfect example of how it is done.

Creating a true mountain bike destination takes more than just great trails. It takes dedicated club and group of riders, hard work, time and buy-in from the local community. This could not be truer than in Hinton, Alberta.

If you've ever visited Canmore, you understand the grasp the mountains can have on your heart. You get mesmerized by the towering peaks that surround you and it inspires you to get outside and play. That is why Canmore is a gathering spot for many athletes and outdoor enthusiasts.

It's pretty rare that we see Vancouver-esque weather here in Calgary [LOL], but that's what we had today.  Regardless, folks had a good time at the 2011 MEC Bikefest.  The rain drove people to the shelter of the IMBA tent, where I held them in thrall with my tales of mountain bike trail advocacy.  Muahahahaha!  Thanks to everyone who came by to say hello and ask questions about IMBA and what we do.  Now, off to take a very hot shower and grab a pint...

Hi there!  This is my first blog post for IMBA Canada as Alberta Regional Coordinator.  I've been working for the CMBA for the last few years, and I'm thrilled to hook up with IMBA as well.  Tomorrow I'll be at the MEC BikeFest Calgary, selling a table full of IMBA goodies and talking to the many and varied citizens who stroll by.  Feel free to come on over and say hi!
