Volunteers Needed!

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

IMBA Canada is seeking a Volunteer Communications Coordinator to oversee the social media and online communications strategy. The candidate will have experience with social media, marketing, or writing, and a passion for sharing and protecting the outdoors.

Position Type: Part time volunteer (10 hours per month)

Position start/end date: December 1st 2017 / December 1st, 2018

Location: Virtual


 

DUTIES:

  • Plan, organize, edit, and write the content for each of the four quarterly newsletters

  • Lead, plan, and implement a social media strategy and online marketing campaigns for IMBA Canada social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

  • Maintain and update information on the IMBA Canada’s website

  • Research, write, and distribute press releases to targeted media

  • Create and maintain a social media posting schedule and calendar

  • Track social media and newsletter engagement metrics to measure future campaign performance

  • Monitor social media feed, commenting and reposting as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience with social media

  • Comfortable learning the IMBA Canada web platform (CiviCRM and Drupal)

  • High quality writing and editing experience

  • Ability to manage a quarterly project from start to completion

  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage expectations
