Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation: Help us communicate with you by email!

June 19, 2014 -- Want to continue receiving news from IMBA Canada? Be sure to Opt-In before June 30!

On July 1, 2014, Canada will have a new anti-spam law in effect. Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires us to have your express consent before sending you electronic messages containing commercial information. While much of our email communication with you is about new mountain bike opportunities, trailbuilding events, programs such as Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day or organizational initiatives and activities, we may also include commercial information, such as notices about your membership, online store sales, special events, contests and/or fundraising opportunities. We may send those messages directly or include them in electronic publications, such as our IMBA Canada eNewsletters.

What does this mean? It means we need your permission to send you electronic communications.

You will be receiving an email from IMBA Canada in the next few days asking you to re-affirm that you are willing to receive electronic messages. Please take a moment to read the letter and Opt-In to continue receiving electronic communication from IMBA Canada.

If you have joined or renewed your membership, made a donation, or volunteered with IMBA Canada, you have implied your consent for a period of two years from the date of the transaction. By Opting-In now, you give us your express consent to continue contacting you until the point in time that you choose to change your communications preferences. You are able to unsubscribe from any mailing list or opt-out of email communications altogether at any time you choose.

Please be sure to add canada[at]imba.com to your safe lists, so that our email messages do not end up in your junkmail.

If you have any questions, please direct them to canada[at]imba.com.
