2012 X-Fusion Trail Ambassadors announced
Congratulations to Igor Dragoslavic (Waterloo, ON) and Jim Lucas (Crowsnest Pass, AB), who have been named IMBA Canada's 2012 X-Fusion Trail Ambassadors.
“We are so proud to be able to give a small thank you to two hard working, community oriented individuals like Igor and Jim, our East and West 2012 X-Fusion Trail Ambassadors,” says Brian Kuhn from Renegade Cycle Solutions. “Without visionaries like you, there would be fewer places to ride, and fewer quality trails."
Made possible by corporate member Renegade Cycle Solutions (RCS), the X-Fusion Trail Ambassador Awards recognizes Canadian advocates who go ‘above and beyond’ their volunteer roles to give back to the mountain biking and trails communities. Both Eastern and Western Ambassadors will be receiving a 2012 X-Fusion Velvet RL fork from RCS as a thank you.
Nominated by Darcy Neniska, Jim is the trail director for the United Riders of Crowsnest Pass and is working to see the implementation of a 150km trail plan for the region. “Over the last 3 summers, Jim has donated countless hours to flagging, clearing and building new trails in Crowsnest pass,” wrote Darcy. “He has jumped at every opportunity to bring together the municipality, the bike club, and various land owners in an effort to show them the economic impact of this project.”
Igor, member-at-large with the Waterloo Cycling Club, is the person largely credited with building, maintaining (and perfecting) the Hydrocut– a 25km long loop of urban singletrack. "Igor tirelessly devotes all of his free time to work on our local club trails...In early fall, he'll be out clearing away trees, then planning volunteer days throughout the season and making them happen. This has gone on for many years, and this year the trails have improved massively with new sections added and resulted in a now 100% one-way trail system,” said Morten Schmidt, who nominated Igor for the title.
