IMBA RECOGNIZED FOR CONTRIBUTION TO BAYVIEW BIKE PARK

Last month, Youth Unlimited / Revolutions presented IMBA Canada with a plaque in recognition for our contribution to the Baview Bike Park re-development.

Trail Specialist Daniel Scott was on hand to receive the award, along with other organizations, including Toronto's Parks, Forestry & Rec., MEC, and Ontario Bike Park Construction. "It has been our privilege and pleasure to work with such a dedicated crew of vibrant, passionate folk who are striving to empower and enhance the lives of urban youth," said Daniel. Blog.

CLUB SUCCESS STORY: SHORTHILLS CYCLING CLUB

The Short Hills Cycling Club (St. Catharines, ON) has been busy providing stewardship efforts to the Short Hills Provincial Park trail network for the past few years, including trail construction, redesign and restoration. To aid in their efforts, the club went through the grant writing process and are now the proud recipients of a prestigious Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant of $14,000, which will be allocated to new tools, trail maintenance equipment and a trailer...Continue reading.

HOLIDAY OFFICE CLOSURE

The IMBA Canada office will be closed starting on Monday, December 24, 2012, and will be reopen on Thursday, January 3, 2013.

SECOND EDITION OF IMBA'S YOUTH PUBLICATION NOW AVAILABLE

With the help of a generous grant from Shimano, IMBA has released the second edition of a youth-oriented print publication. Written for middle-school through high-school aged readers — as well as their mountain bike coaches and adult ride leaders — IMBA Trail News Youth Edition is available for free online. Check it out herePress release.

PARTNERSHIP WITH VELO QUEBEC

Along with Vélo Québec, IMBA Canada is excited to announce a formal partnership with Québec’s provincial bicycling organization through the signing of a MOU.

Throughout 2013, both organizations will seek to build capacity, improve collective knowledge, leverage resources, and provide a united voice for mountain bikers in Québec through a collaborative provincial partnership. Press release.
