TRAIL CARE CREW SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

The IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew is back for a third year!

Rachael Raven and AJ Strawson will be starting their first season in Canada's beautiful Yukon Territory in July 2012, then traveling though Ontario, Quebec, the Prairies, and Western Canada.

Highlights of this season will include a week long visit in the Yukon, visiting Kluane National Park and Contagious Mountain Bike Club in Whitehorse. The Crew will also be attending IMBA Ontario's Trailblazing Festival August 18-19th at Hardwood Ski and Bike, and IMBA's World Summit in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

IMBA SEEKING INTERNATIONAL SPEAKERS FOR 2012 WORLD SUMMIT

IMBA is currently seeking proposals for speakers for this year's World Summit in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We're encouraging Canadian members, land managers, volunteers, advocates, et al., to apply for the chance to present and make this summit truly international. Find the content RFP here.

TEN TRAIL BUILDING WORKSHOPS SCHEDULED IN THE CITY OF TORONTO

Next month, IMBA Canada will be kicking off a series of trail building workshops in Crothers Woods, and at the Bayview Bike Park. Ten workshops with the Toronto Region Conservation Authority are scheduled throughout 2012, and IMBA Canada staff will be participating, along with Sustainable Trails Ltd.

Attending groups include the Toronto Off-Road Cycling Association (TORBA), Youth Unlimited, Wild Betty's Cycling Club, and Evergreen Bike Works. Blog.

IMBA CANADA SEEKING ONTARIO-BASED COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

We're looking for a part-time summer communications intern to assist with social media, writing for the web, and other tasks. The ideal candidate will be a student or recent graduate in journalism, communications, or marketing, and will be a passionate mountain biker and trail user!

CANADIAN CYCLIST AND CAFÉ DOMESTIQUE RAISE FUNDS FOR IMBA CANADA

Earlier this month, Café Domestique and Canadian Cyclist presented IMBA Canada with a cheque for $700, raised at the Toronto International Bike Show. The funds will be primarily directed towards Christie Lake trail construction, in the Dundas area.

IMBA Canada is grateful to both, for their support of the trail building efforts at Christie Lake, as well as the broader mission of creating more and better trail experiences for mountain biking nationwide…" said Lora Woolner, IMBA Canada Executive Director. Press release.

IMBA CANADA ATTENDS HILTON FALLS ANNUAL TRAIL BUILD DAY

Hilton Falls Conservation Area in Milton, Ontario hosted another successful Annual Trail Maintenance day with 40+ people volunteering their sweat equity into rejuvenating the trails they love.

Hilton Falls, under the stewardship of Conservation Halton, is one of two parks that offers world class mountain biking along the Niagara Escarpment. Staff at the park developed a detailed work plan for the day, with multiple teams dedicated to projects that ranged from simple pruning to advanced bridge building and repair. Blog + video.
