Changing of the guard for IMBA's Quebec Regional Coordinator
Last month, we said goodbye to former Quebec coordinator Jérôme Pelland, and welcomed Eric Leonard to the IMBA Canada team.
Eric has a strong background in cycling advocacy, including involvement with the ADSVMQ (Quebec’s trail advocacy organization), Bunny Hop, and the provincial trail directory at www.AllezY.net. He also co-authored the "Guide d'Aménagement des Sentiers de Vélo de Montagne," a resource based on IMBA’s Trail Solutions and Managing Mountain Biking books.
As an active transportation planner, Eric works to help grow cycling and walking opportunities in many municipalities around the province. When he's not riding bikes, Eric can be found in mountains where the snow is deep. Press release.
Share your success stories with us
To get a picture of what our affiliated clubs are doing, we'd like to hear from you! Share your club's greatest success story from 2010-- an event, a great piece of trail constructed or rerouted, a membership campaign or fundraiser, whatever! With this information, we can let our partners know what mountain bikers are doing in their communities, and we can share the good news with other Canadian clubs. Press release.

IMBA at the table for trail leadership in Canada
This coming week, IMBA Canada's Executive Director, Lora Woolner will be joining a member of the Bow Valley Mountain Bike Alliance in snowy Banff, AB, to represent the mountain bike community at the National Trail Leadership Round Table. This initial collaboration, facilitated by the Trans Canada Trail and Parks Canada, will bring trail users, builders and stakeholders together to discuss the future of trails and to launch a national discussion for the development of a strategic vision for trails in Canada.
Thanks for voting
A great big thank you to everyone who voted for the IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew in the Pepsi Refresh Project. We're happy to have come in 11th place in the $100,000 category, and to have raised support for Canadian trails!
