All BC clubs are invited to join the RLAC – email BC Coordinator james [dot] brown [at] imba [dot] com (James Brown) to get the ball rolling.

IMBA CANADA LAUNCHES PROVINCIAL PROGRAM IN ONTARIO

Snow is melting in much of Ontario, and we're getting pumped to ride. But we're equally excited to announce the launch of IMBA Ontario.

With so many great riders, clubs, and retailers, Ontario has always been supportive of IMBA's mission in Canada, and around the world. To serve our members and the mountain bike community better, we've joined forces with folks at Mountain Bike Ontario (hosts of the 2011 TRAILBLAZING Festival) to create IMBA Ontario – the first provincial program of IMBA Canada.

IMBA Ontario's goal is to build a province-wide community in support of mountain biking – Providing the backbone for continued access to appealing trails, trail building expertise, a positive image, and political influence. To coordinate efforts in our most populous province, IMBA Canada has hired Igor Hoogendoorn.

Though we're still in the process of rolling out the details, we wanted to share the great news about IMBA Ontario and invite you to this year's festival:

CHANGES TO BASIC MEMBERSHIP DUES

As of March 1st, 2012, basic membership costs for individuals and clubs will be increasing in order to reflect IMBA's international averages.

Unchanged since 2005, IMBA Canada's individual 'basic membership' will increase to $35, and 'supporting membership' will rise to $50, to cover the growing costs of premiums and benefits. Clubs with fewer than 100 members will now pay $75 per year, while clubs with over 100 members will pay $150 – better reflecting the value received through club affiliation. Press release.
