Happy Holidays!

Happy HolidaysDear IMBA Canada Supporters -

At this time of year, as we wrap up our programs and operations for 2010 and look forward to 2011, we are humbled by the generosity of our members.

In the last month alone, your actions have helped us achieve the following for mountain biking:

  • More than 70 of you donated to the IMBA Canada Annual Fund, raising nearly $5,000 to kick start IMBA Canada projects in 2011.
  • Already, more than 1,200 of you responded to Parks Canada's survey on Cycling in the Mountain Parks, helping to shape mountain biking opportunities in Canada's treasured landscapes.
  • An unprecedented 65 requests for Trail Care Crew visits were received, setting us up for a jam-packed trail building season next year.

For all your support and commitment to mountain biking in Canada, THANK YOU!  We look forward to riding with you again in 2011.

- Happy trails, and happy holidays, from the IMBA Canada staff

IMBA Canada takes a seat at the National Trail Leadership Roundtable

Last month, IMBA Canada’s executive director Lora Woolner travelled to Banff, AB, to take part in the National Trail Leadership Roundtable. Hosted by the Trans Canada Trail and Parks Canada, the three day event brought together 49 stakeholders from the trail community to discuss the future of trail development, management and sustainability in Canada. Trail Care Crew Wrap Up

A sincere thank you to all the groups who helped make the inaugural season of the IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew a great success! The Crew engaged with over 1000 people and trained over 350 volunteers on the science and technique of sustainable trailbuilding.

With more than 60 visit request applications received for the 2011 season, it's looking like year two on the road will be even more successful! Stay tuned to imbacanada.com in the new year for more news on the program.
