Getting technical in Hartland

Trail Solutions begins to develop a new entrance area for the Hartland Trail System in Victoria, BC with South Island Mountain Bicycling Society & the Capital Regional. District.

Hartland.  An accomplishment for mountain bicycling advocacy and club / land manager relations within the lower mainland of British Columbia, this extensive trail system provides the riders of Victoria and its surrounding communites with trails that run the gamut from easy doubletrack to some stuff that would test even the North Shore's mettle for its gnar factor.

Recognition for a Good Cause

IMBA recieves award for contributions to the revitalization of the Bayview Bike Park in northern Toronto.

This past Saturday saw a gathering of many of the players that have been involved in the re-development of the Bayview Bike Park. What started as an impromptu workday on a rainy Sunday in the fall of 2011 has evolved into a continued partnership between Youth Unlimited's Revolutions Program and IMBA Canada.  Along the way, bike park building newcomer, Ontario Bike Park Construction, also jumped into the fray taking on the task of building a new pumptrack on the site.

EcoFriendly Education - Fleming College

IMBA Canada's Daniel Scott conducted the Ecologically Sustainable Trails Course at Fleming College last weekend, teaching students about the protocols, theories, best practices and more that pertain to making sure trails are not only fun but easy on our critical ecosystems.

IMBA Canada's Daniel Scott conducted the Ecologically Sustainable Trails Course at Fleming College last weekend, teaching students about the protocols, theories, best practices and more that pertain to making sure trails are not only fun but easy on our critical ecosystems.

Part of Fleming College's Sustainable Trails Certificate, this course was focused on how ecology interacts with recreation.  The curriculum tackled everything from federal and provincial legislation to design and construction to assessment and remediation.

Trail Solutions @ Gravity Logic Forum

Last week saw Daniel Scott & Deanne Lazaruk head back to Whistler, this time to participate in the Gravity Logic Forum.

Gravity Logic is a name that is synonymous with some of the best resort bike park riding in the world and with good reason.  Founding members Dave Kelly and Tom Pro were an intrigal component in making the Whistler Bike Park what it is today with classics such as 'A-Line' or the new alpine trail 'Top of the World'.

Expanding the Yellowhead Highway Bike Experience to Houston

IMBA Canada's Trail Solutions program travels to northern BC to commence the fieldwork portion of the new masterplan for Houston, BC.

September 2012 has turned out to be an absolutely spectalar one weather-wise.  Ten days of beautiful blue skies provided ideal fieldwork conditions as IMBA Canada embarks on developing another trails masterplan for a community along the Yellowhead Highway (16) in northern British Columbia.
