IMBA Canada @ decline Symposium

IMBA Canada's Daniel Scott participated in the decline Symposium in Whistler during Crankworx and presented to the attendees on the progress IMBA has had both at home and abroad.

The Symposium is held every year in Whistler by decline Magazines's creators, H3 Publications, as a way for the bike industry of getting together to discuss various trends.  As is customary with the topics within decline magazine, the focus leans more to the gravity oriented side of things.  Topics like the future of 650b / 27.5" wheels, the status of the Whistler Bike Park and more were discussed prior to IMBA taking the front seat.

Daniel covered much of the last two years of progress that IMBA has had with an alarmingly large number of Trail Solutions projects through the world that involve bike parks or gravity trails as well as some new programs in the works before opening the floor to a critical feedback period for the industry folk in attendance.

It was a heated, passionate discussion that ensued as topics like rogue building, the new IMBA column in decline magazine, IMBA's image as mediators, the future of sustainable trail design and more were tackled.  Were it not for the necessity of getting folks out to get their products shot by the photographers on hand the discussion would have easily taken up the whole morning but the plug was pulled after an hour and a half.  While there were certainly some areas where a few folks felt IMBA could improve upon, there was unanimous agreement that IMBA was a critical component to representing the world of mountain bicycling.

IMBA Canada would like to thanks H3 Publications for allowing us the opportunity to present and discuss this sport and lifestyle that we all love so dearly.  Check out decline magazine online or at any reputable bookstore near you!
