A message from IMBA Canada Trail Specialist, Daniel Scott

Dear Canadian Mountain Biker,

Over the past year, I've worked on projects from the East Coast to the West Coast, and look forward to providing more great mountain biking experiences for you in 2012.

Project Highlights for 2011

• Developed a non-motorized, multi-use trails masterplan for Corner Brook, Newfoundland. 50km of new trail slated for construction which highlights the beauty and fun that is ripe for enjoyment in western Newfoundland.

• Worked with Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland to determine future mountain bicycling specific offerings within the Park.

• Redesigned two existing trails and designed a new trail in Fundy National Park, New Brunswick which will enhance the Park’s mountain bicycling offerings.

• Participated in providing trail design instruction to students within Sir Sandford Fleming’s new Sustainable Trails college program

• Assisted Sustainable Trails Ltd’s team with the development of the upcoming Georgina Bike Park in Georgina, Ontario.

• Worked with the City of Toronto in maintaining the trails in Crother’s Woods along with various volunteer user groups and am currently assisting the Hoots Inc.’s team in the development of Toronto’s first large scale community bike park.

• Designed and managed the construction of Canada’s first off-road handcycle trail system (over 10km) located outside of Regina, Saskatchewan.

• Provided the Capital Regional District, Vancouver Island’s larger parks land manager, with staff training and consultation on the development of a new park in Sooke.

Please donate now. $40-plus donations earn a full-colour calendar — a $20 value — while supplies last. Plus all donors receive 20% off at the IMBA Canada Store for the Holiday Season.

But more than that, your gift lays the foundation for what IMBA Canada can do in nationwide. Please help us create and build that vision!

Best wishes for 2012 and thanks in advance for your contribution!
